There are nine events that will allow as many members as possible to run races with other Club members at friendly venues throughout three “Regions.”

The Southeast Region races at VIR and Road Atlanta, the Northeast Region races at Summit Point, Mosport and New Jersey Lightning along with Lime Rock Park and the Midwest Region races at Elkhart Lake Wisconsin’s Road America and at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. This schedule recognizes that most members race close to home and pick races that they want to go to based on how many other cars will attend.

There are two levels of events. The Regional events serve to funnel the local membership to those events for fun, participation and social activity. The Festival events are those the Club feels are particularly special and deserve a place on the calendars of members who are interested in traveling to events where there is a higher than average turnout of Sports 2000 cars.

The third Feature will be the 2010 Lime Rock Vintage Festival on Labor Day weekend. This extraordinary, fast race track is filled with history and this “mega-event” was not to be missed. A terrific event in a beautiful part of the country at a fantastic time of year. We need you to enter early to assure a Monday S2-only race.

The fourth Feature is the October SVRA event at Road Atlanta. We’ll be commemorating the substantial Sports 2000 presence at the SCCA RunOffs held at this track from 1980 through 1993. Once the third most popular class (behind FV and FF), Sports 2000 at the RunOffs was always a great race! Hope to see you there!
